The three sizes every pipe fence is built from
Same pipe that came out of the well, EMI inspected and graded. Green and red band is structural pipe, priced to beat new steel by a wide margin.
2 7/8" used tubing
6.5 lb per foot, 0.217" wall. The standard fence post and corral post. Sold in 30 to 32 ft joints, cut to length on request. Also 2 7/8" drill stem for heavy corners and gate posts.
2 3/8" used tubing
4.7 lb per foot, 0.190" wall. Top rail, continuous fence rail, line posts on lighter fence. Lighter to handle and weld, still outlasts wood by decades.
3 1/2" tubing and drill stem
9.3 lb per foot and up. Gate posts, cattle guards, pole barn columns, arena and working pen rail where livestock pushes hard.
Sucker rod
3/4" and 7/8" rod in 25 ft lengths for fence rails, cattle guard bars, hay feeders and arena fencing. Sold by the bundle.
Larger structural pipe
4 1/2" to 8 5/8" casing in green and red band for culverts, bridge decking, bollards, pole barn frames and sign posts.
Cut to length and delivery
Posts cut to 8, 10 or 12 ft on request. Flatbed delivery to Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle, freight in the price.
Joint, bundle or truckload. Priced per foot.
Pipe fence is priced by the foot and sold by the joint. A joint of 2 7/8" tubing is about 31 ft and makes three 10 ft posts. A full flatbed load of 2 7/8" is roughly 6,500 to 7,000 ft, which fences about a mile of line at 10 ft spacing with top rail. Tell us the footage and the county and we quote delivered.
Volume pricing on repeat truckloads, mixed loads of posts and rail, and sucker rod on the same truck. Call and ask for the contractor rate.
Straight, inspected, sorted by wall
Every joint is EMI inspected when it comes out of the field and painted with a wall loss band. For fence and structural work we sell green band (30 to 50 percent wall loss) and red band (over 50 percent). Both are plenty for posts and rail; the difference is weight and price. Blue and white band is available when you want near full wall for gate posts or load bearing columns.
Pipe comes with the couplings on unless you ask for them cut off. Threads on both ends; most fence builders weld or use couplings to join rail.

Tell us the footage and the county
That is all we need. Send how many feet of posts and how many feet of rail, what size, and where it is going. You get a delivered price within one business day, usually the same afternoon. Mixed loads are fine.
Text photos of your fence line or a sketch of the corral and we will work out the pipe list with you.
How much pipe do I need?
For a 5 rail pipe fence on 10 ft centers, figure one 2 7/8" post every 10 ft and 5 runs of 2 3/8" rail, so about 1 ft of post and 5 ft of rail per foot of fence. A continuous fence with sucker rod rails uses less. Send the length and we do the math.
Is used oilfield pipe safe for livestock?
Yes. It is steel pipe. Ask for green or blue band if you want heavier wall, and tell us if you need the couplings cut off so there are no catch points.
Can I pick it up?
Yes, from the nearest yard with pipe on the ground. Most ranch orders ship on a flatbed because a truckload is cheaper per foot than three trailer loads.
Do you cut to length?
Yes. Posts cut to 8, 10 or 12 ft on request for a small per cut charge. Full joints are the best price per foot.
What about drill stem?
Drill stem is heavier wall than tubing in the same OD and makes the strongest corners and gate posts. We carry 2 7/8" and 3 1/2" when it comes through; ask and we will tell you what is on the ground.
